We are installing a biometric cashless catering system which will be launched on 29 October 2018.
The new system will enable students to pay for meals in school by scanning their finger rather than carrying cash. As well as shortening the queueing time for our students, it also provides parents with a balance of their dinner money in their online Gateway account.
Please note, no cash will be accepted at the till points after the new cashless system is introduced.
For those students whose parents do not give clear consent for their child to be registered on the biometric system, a four digit PIN number will be allocated to them instead to use at the cashless till. Please note that PIN codes are not as secure and it will be the student's responsibility to remember the code and keep it to themselves at all times.
Our preferred payment option is via the school Gateway, but for parents unable to access the internet, cheques will be accepted by the school Finance Office.
Parents will be able to start putting money onto their child's account from 19 October and for any students who have a balance, this will be transferred over automatically.
A daily ‘spend limit’ of £8 will be programmed into the system but this can be changed by written request to the school finance office.
